In high school travel courses, education and travel meet in a common discipline. Here it is about getting a well-informed experience of the destination both before and during the journey, so that the course participants can unlock all the secrets of the destination.
At the Danish high schools, “traveling” becomes a subject in it. With the travel courses of the schools you not only travel, but also get educated in the chosen destination before you leave.
The courses still contain the classical activities from a high school stay and still have the same purpose as the other courses of higher education – giving the students “formation”.
The shorter trips can thus, to some extent, be perceived as a “travel trip”, says SørenOttzen, vice president at VråHøjskole.
